Jakarta Bina Marga Dept continues to arrange sidewalks in the capital city. Unfortunately, a few of them was occupied by street vendor (PKL). One of them can be seen on Jl Jatibaru in front of Tanah Abang Station, Central Jakarta. Ironically, the sidewalk looks messy and cannot be passed by the people.

"The sidewalk was widened, but used by PKL. As a result, many people cannot pass the sidewalk," expressed Rahmat (32), a local resident, Friday (11/11).
According to him, each sidewalk that has been arranged should get tight supervision from related unit. If the PKL cannot be controlled, they must be controlled so that the space for pedestrians can be provided.
Arrangement for 39 Sidewalks Has Reached 70 Percent"We want related unit to seriously follow up this matter," he complained.
Responding on this matter, Jakarta Bina Marga Dept Head, Yusmada Faizal disclosed, after arrangement is done, supervision will be applied by involving all parties, especially village chief.
"Considering the sidewalk is for the pedestrian, instead of PKL. So they must be arranged," he uttered.
